"Hatty's Story" - this story has
a happy ending,
but contains some disturbing pictures

If you see an animal here that you would like to re-home the first step is to contact us to for further details and we will reserve the animal for you if you wish to proceed. We are always happy to give help and advice about re-homing an animal.

The next step is to arrange with you to carry out a home visit which allows us to ensure the home is suitable and also gives you the opportunity to ask any further questions you may have about rehoming an animal. We aim to carry out home visits within a week of the animal being reserved.

During the home visit we are looking to see that:

You have a good understanding about the commitment involved in adopting your chosen animal.

A dog will not be left alone for more than 4-5 hours a day and will get a minimum of one 30 minute walk per day, all year round.

A dog has a secure backyard or garden with fencing of a minimum of 6ft in height, although this may need to be higher depending on the size of the dog.

You are willing to take a Dog to training classes/seek help if necessary.

On completion of a successful home visit we will arrange with you to collect the animal and  their documents including vaccination card and microchip details.

Adoption fees for Dogs are £100. The cost includes neutering, flea control treatment, vaccination against Kennel cough, micro-chipping.

Adoption fees for Cats are £55, Kittens £65. The cost includes neutering, vaccination against Feline Infectious Enteritis and Influenza, micro-chipping.

Additional donations are greatly appreciated to help us to continue with our work.

If you would like to offer one of our dogs or cats a new home and you would like to arrange to meet them, please call our Branch Manager Julia Tucker on 0161-286-2503 or email rspca.altrincham.cheshire@googlemail.com
